Scalable Workplace Insight to Support Global Consolidation

NXP Semiconductors partnered with Spaceology to validate desk sharing strategies across three global sites. With plans to consolidate buildings in Eindhoven and scale agile working globally, NXP needed evidence to support design decisions, without the complexity or cost of permanent installs.

By using a rolling sensor deployment model, Spaceology delivered measurable insight and accelerated decision confidence across continents.

Challenge

NXP’s Workplace team faced pressure to merge two office sites without sacrificing team productivity or comfort. They also needed to scale this approach globally, without duplicating infrastructure.

The key challenge: validate whether their new desk-sharing ratios would support projected headcount, and determine whether existing space could be optimised rather than expanded.

Our Solution

Spaceology deployed a flexible, multi-site occupancy measurement solution:

Over 1,800 sensors installed across three global offices.

Rolling 3-month studies in Eindhoven, Bangalore, and Noida.

Live dashboards and analytics visualised how desks, meeting rooms, and shared spaces were actually used.

A reusable sensor model enabled ongoing insight without repurchasing tech.

API integration ensured internal BI teams could access real-time and historical data.
